Indiana not out of it...for now

Posted by Brooks

Despite the fact that many people have said that Indiana is out of the running for 2009 blue-chipper Dominic Cheek, it is now being reported by Adam Zagoria that Tom Crean will have an in-home visit with Cheek tomorrow night. Also, Tennessee fans jumped out of their socks after finding out that Cheek was going to be visiting Knoxville this weekend for the UT versus Florida football game, but they may want to temper that excitement. According to his uncle, Cheek may not be going to Knoxville this weekend afterall.

Seton Hall and Memphis have already had in-home visits and Indiana head coach Tom Crean is up next on Wednesday, Knight said. Crean recently hired Roshown McLeod, a former St. Anthony star who is the older brother of current guard Devon McLeod, a close friend of Cheek’s.

After that, Cheek may take an official visit this weekend to Tennessee, but his uncle said he may stay home to play in an all-star game in Cherry Hill, N.J.

“I don’t know what he wants do to yet,” Knight said. “It’s up to him. I can’t force him to go.”

Cheek will also take officials to Wake Forest and Villanova, but no dates have been set. Assuming he goes to Tennessee and Kansas, one other official would then go to Memphis, Indiana, Pitt, UConn, Rutgers or Seton Hall. Rutgers comes in for an in-home on Sunday, and Villanova follows on Sept. 23.

In my opinion, college basketball is the greatest overall sport. March and April are my favorite times of the year. My wife says I have an obsession.
